Editing has become an involuntary reflex. After correcting countless term papers spanning from high school to Master’s programs, I can’t help myself.
If I read something, I edit it.
Over the years, this skill has been called upon by family and friends when resumes, biographies and obituaries needed to be written and proofread. It was not enough to correct spelling and grammar, the syntax and integrity of the work had to be maintained.
Along the way, I discovered that I had the ability to speak in the voice of the author. Regardless of the vocabulary, tone or intent of the writer, I could adapt to their writing style. If you give me the opportunity, I would like to apply this skill to your unique editing needs.
